Question?

Sunday, December 30, 2007

There's something I can't quite figure out, I'm hoping anyone out there who reads this has some insights.

I've been surveying prices for the Canon PowerShot A560. From what I see, most retailers price the baby at approximately RM700-RM800. This price comes with a 1GB SD card.

Now, I've stumbled upon this shop's website on Lelong.com offering it for RM550, also with a 1GB memory card. It so happens that the shop offering this is at Subang Square SS15, right opposite the Guitar Pro Shop.

My question is this, why can they sell it for 200 ringgit less? What's the catch? Their website says it's because they're a distributor. I can't examine the product beforehand because they're out of stock. To place an order I would need to give a RM200 deposit.

Is it a scam? Any thoughts? The shop's Lelong reputation is pretty much clean with 130+ happy customers. I would like to believe it's the real deal, but then again you can't be too cautious. My reasoning is because the retail price in the US is $150, which is RM550.

Well, if you have any idea do write on the cbox. =D

It's been awhile since I produced a proper post. So many filler posts with no content! Lol. I've got quite a bit on my mind lately, time to let them out.

First things first, a very Merry Christmas to all! =D Hope you all had a good one this year. I spent a small fortune on gifts for my family this year, hehe. I hope they liked them, I figured I'd get them something nice this year since I won't be seeing them in awhile. What really made my day was to see my cousin happy with the watch I got her. =D Thanks to all who so kindly thought of me this Christmas!

Just had a bite of Simon's first attempt of baking. Not bad at all. =D

My parents recently came back from a trip to Dubai. (Without their children, so terrible. =P) While they were there, they were delighted when they saw the latest iPod Nano on sale for less than 130 ringgit and bought a few back. I can see why they were so surprised, the darn pirates did a really good job in the packaging department. If it wasn't for the shiny 2GB logo at the top of the box I myself probably wouldn't have noticed it was fake at a glance.

Sorry for the blur pictures, my phone camera can't take macro shots for nuts.

It even came with the actual instruction sheet that comes with the original iPod Nano! So pro la these pirates.

Actually it's not all that bad. 2GBs of space, built-in (nonsense) speakers, video playback (also nonsense, it uses some obscure 10 frame-per-second format), FM radio, an E-book reader. What really surprised me was that it's voice recording feature is actually quite power. lol.. Maybe I can use it for lectures or something.

Thanks mom for the Mp3 player! I was thinking of getting one before I go to Australia, now I don't have to. =D You read my mind.

Just realized that there is a whole row of pixels on the screen that's not working anymore. It was working fine a minute ago! I've barely used it for a day. (-_-") I wonder if it will make it with me to Australia.

It's been only 1 day since Tina, Ken, Simon, Ei Leen and Jeremy left for RBS in Camerons. I miss my sis quite a bit. (TT_TT) It's so quiet at home without her. To think that I'll last for a month.. woo woo. You won't believe the random phrases she comes up with each day.

At least I'll be able to see them when I visit with my RBS kaki, hehe.

The only good that comes out of Tina being away for a month is that my leg hair can now grow freely and abundantly with her absence. xD

I'm in lurveeeeeeeee...

The Canon PowerShot A560. I spent 6 whole hours today reading reviews of budget digital camera's for less than a thousand bucks. I believe I've found what I was looking for. =D Gonna need something to take kangaroo pictures with.

It roughly costs about RM750 in the LowYat forums. With a 2GB SD card too! Now to submit my petition to my parents. xD

STREETTT FIGHTERRR!

This is crazy..

And I thought Rudi was good. xD

This was a tournament video for Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.

If you were wondering what they were all screaming about at the end of the video, Ken was at the brink of defeat when he countered Chun Li's special move with a 15-hit parry, not an ordinary block. The parry requires precise and precision timing to pull off, including a mid-air parry where Ken has to jump to execute. He then finishes Chun Li off with a magnificent combo..

Brilliant..

This was the video of the whole game. Enjoy. =D

So here's the senario.. Xin's sister Jin and her brother Sek Lin are trying to feed their beloved cat Meeko some medication.

Hear the sounds the cat makes. =D

Meeko is quite a monster so he had to be wrapped up and bounded with a towel to force the medication down his throat. Haha.. funny cat.

Pa Rup Pa Pum Pum

Haha.. Judson recommended this to me. Lol.. The Animal couldn't keep up with the legend. xD

Another one Jud recommended. This is a really old video, means that Buddy has been crazy pro since forever. How on earth do you get so good?! The dude can't even read sheet music! According to Jud anyway.

The good stuff doesn't happen until about a minute into the clip. You can so tell the drummer to the right is Buddy, his sound is so distinct. I think Gene Krupa got owned. lol.

Judson is so inspired. He's still so young. Looking forward to see what he's capable of. =D

So cute! Small boy also know how to invite for a romantic dinner! Die la when puberty hits. Taken from Grace's blog.

The weather has been awfully wet these last few days. Hope it didn't spoil the youth camp. They come home today! xD Can't wait to take my cousins out for a drink.

I've recently stumbled across a series known as Robot Chicken. There's nothing quite like it. =D I find it so inspired and random. Imagine how much work it takes to do a stop motion show. Too bad they don't show it here on Cartoon Network.

Spent quite a few hours yesterday watching the series on YouTube. It was however insufficient to fill my craving, so I had to resort to torrents to get my fix. xD

I'm delighted fan boy to see that they did a whole episode on Star Wars! Even George Lucas provided his own voice for the skit! What a sport!

"But, I'm ambidextrous! See?"

Lol.. Poor Panda. (walrus creature)

"I love your hair! Where did you get it done?"

xD

Salted Egg Crabs

Saturday, December 08, 2007

Ooo wow.. It's about time for an update.

If you guys read my cousin's blog, we've been away in Kuantan for the past 3 days to visit our grandparents. Well, we're back now.. Oh how I miss Poh Poh's Char Siew.. They're just like her fried eggs, simply magical. xD

It was a nice visit. I think I've bonded a little with my little cousins with my newly learned horrible mandarin skills. I know Li Li has certainly been making fun of me in mandarin but at least I can somewhat communicate with her now. Hopefully I can further improve myself in hopes to shed the Banana status I have.

Oh and I'll miss the Salted Egg Crabs from Kuantan.. Wonderful wonderful salted egg crabs. *drool*. If you ever go to Kuantan you MUST try it.

haha..

In other news, the past few days after coming back from Kuantan have been awfully quiet. With both Tina and Judson away for Youth Camp, there's this strange feeling of emptiness in the house. I never realized how the two of them made the place so lively and noisy, since this is the first time I'm alone at with with the both of them gone. I'm guessing that this is a taste of what it'll be like in Clayton. Sigh..

I'm sure they're having a blast at camp along with the rest of the youth. =) Can't wait for the stories or video of the theme night.

On to the next item on the agenda, apparently.. We have our own BIGFOOT! =D

Presenting, the Malaysian Mawa of Johor!

Another article..

For those not too fond of lengthy articles, a video from one of the articles.

I have to say I've always been particularly fond of cryptology, as geeky as it may be. It's fun to know that Malaysia is involved too. xD

We skated and we skated and skated and skated. A total of 6 hours, from 9am to 3pm.

When driving Xin back home, I noticed that every time I made a turn my legs would twist a little as if I was balancing myself on the ice.

When I was sitting still on the floor, my legs still felt like it was skating on the ice.

For 20 bucks a day, ice skating is not an activity you can do everyday. My calves still hurt like nuts. However, the amount of good clean fun it provides among friends is absolutely magical. =D

Welcome to the 60's!

Yet another memorable piece of my childhood. =)

CYBER COP GO!! xD

I can't believe how horridly cheesy the intro is! I remember it being so much cooler as a kid. Chuen and I used to love the series to death.

The action figures were the bomb. I remember they came with little black suitcases where their weapons were stored in which you can attach to the arms. Just like the show! So cool. xD The Green Guy had the awesome machine gun, the Blue had the rocking sword. I think Chuen had the Blue guy. If I'm not mistaken I had the Green guy.

Ahh.. Good times..

What a fun movie Hairspray is! =D It would have been so much better watching it in the cinema. Too bad I was pretty tied up when it was released.

Xin and I went over to Ee May's place yesterday to hang out and to catch up. I absolutely LOVE her new home. It has always been a dream of mine to own a 3-story house in my older years. =D And her house design is so modern with its huge windows, ikea-like interior and a nice big garden! A gorgeous gorgeous home, haha. It's nice to have you back Ee May! xD

Can't wait to meet her Justin Chai which I heard so much about.

The new shopping center in Bukit Tinggi is pretty nice! Feel like going back there again.

I never knew that Ee Vee (May's sister) went to Monash Clayton in her Uni days. What more she stayed in the Halls, which is exactly where I'll be staying when I'm there. After promoting the Richardson Hall she stayed in and talking about uni life there for awhile, it suddenly hit me. I don't have a lot of time left before I go off.

Everything has already been confirmed. My acceptance letter, my lodging, my course subjects, plane ticket and all. The only things left to handle is the fees and my visa.. I'm actually leaving home..

I'm looking forward to it actually, despite knowing too well that I'll badly miss everything I'm familiar with and love back home. I'm thankful for my parents who gave me this chance to experience life abroad when they didn't have the opportunity. Thank God that my exchange application was accepted, there's no way we could afford this if we paid the Australian fees.

I wonder how I'll fair in Clayton, since I've never lived away from home. It scary to think that my first experience living alone will be in a foreign country, exactly 6372 kilometers away.

2 months to go.

Everything's set for me to go. The question is, am I ready?

Powerrrrrrr Xtreme!

Monday, November 19, 2007

Jon has been posting plenty about his 80's childhood cartoons. I was just surfing the net a minute ago when this particular cartoon just randomly popped up in my head. With a quick google search, I'd like to share with you what I grew up with. =)

Any of you watched this while growing up? =D

Ah, The Centurions.. =) It's just like how I remember it. 3 guys with canggih suits that combine with canggih weapons beamed down from the sky. lol.. I used to run around pretending to be the blue guy (Ace McCloud). xD The ground and sea are for wimps. =P

I love the scenes where they merge with their weapons. Makes me feel like a kid all over again.. =D Not to mention the sheer number of different weapon sets still make me go "Wahhhh..."

Here's their very first episode. You can catch parts 2 and 3 in the youtube site.

POWERRRRR XTREME!!

A gaming tribute

Friday, November 16, 2007

And I thought the Gaming Theme Acapella was good. =D

Performed by the California Band during a half-time show recently, it was nothing short of spectacular. See how many tunes you can identify!

I shamefully admit that I could identify all of the songs played in the video. Seems like I need more time out in the sun. xD

Gibson-WHAT-Guitar?!

Thursday, November 15, 2007

What makes this Gibson Les Paul different from the rest?

Click the picture to find out. Look under the videos section. I was going "FUAH!!" =D

Go electrical engineering!! xD

"Who touched Sasha?!"

Friday, November 09, 2007

Haha, Judson and I pretty much memorized the script for all the Team Fortress 2 videos. The heavy and the soldier's vids are a good laugh. =D

I sure hope the internet cafes have this already. Can't wait for the next Subang fragfest. xD

Must see!

Thursday, November 08, 2007

Two movies you must absolutely catch if you can.

Ken, Daph and I went to watch it not knowing anything about the movie. Not much was put into its promotion I suppose, or either that I haven't been watching TV recently. However, this wonderful fantasy world of Neil Gaiman is sure to delight. =D Great choice Crissy!

Next up,
Much much better than I expected. Don't let the "From the studio that created Shrek" tag line put you off. Unlike the last 2 Shrek sequels, this show is actually genuinely funny! Certainly one to catch if you're looking for a good laugh. I wanted to take Xin out for my second round of Stardust since she hasn't watched it, but she recommended this. Good choice Xin! =D

Oh how I wanted to talk more about these movies, but I wouldn't want to spoil your experience. =) Catch them of you have the time!

On my way back home using the Federal Highway, there was bad traffic accident that occurred near the exit to Shah Alam. All I could see were firemen cutting through the wreckage to get to someone stuck inside the badly damaged white Proton. Alive or not, I could not tell..

The road dividers were distorted so bad as if they were made out of aluminum. I could only pray that no one was lost in that crash.

You couldn't believe the number of kepohs (not you liesl. =) ) that slowed their car to a complete stop in the middle of the road to get a better look. Even the other side of the road which was not blocked by anything was almost at a standstill. Heck, there were plenty of people right beside the firemen, not helping in any way but taking videos with their handphones.

Idiots.

That accident sure reduced my speed on the road by a good 20km/h. Do be careful on the road, or anywhere else for that matter.

I've been craving for a little bit of ice skating for some reason. How about a mass ice skating day? =D

Finally! With Digital Systems done and over with, I officially usher in the holidays!! xD

It was a good paper, thank God. Tricky, but I think I nailed it.

Bring on the holidays! =D

15

Thursday, November 01, 2007

15 hours from now, I would be a free man..

Well, not really. I would still have 1 more paper, ECE 2072 - Digital Systems. But Digital Systems is a whole lot easier compared to any of my subjects taken this semester.

Switching Electronics was horrid. Even the smart ones were cursing through their teeth. I'm rather worried about it. The worse case scenario would be failure.. =|

I already did my best, so if I do fail I'll take it like a man.

A lot of load has been taken off my shoulder recently. After some enquiry, it seems that I got a full offer for the Student Exchange program. Meaning, even if I totally screw up this semester I still go to Aussie, since it's based on my last 3 semesters results. =D

Yay. Good to know that hostel deposit won't go to waste.

That sure takes off a lot of the pressure on me.

But then again, I won't ever want to repeat/fail a subject. I must do my best!

My next paper, ECE 2092 - Advanced Engineering Mathematics B.

My math may be horrid, but I will overcome!!

15 hours..

Do pray for me. =)

Nothing much.. Just a filler pic to keep you occupied.

How on earth did they get that shot?! Lol.. The cat looks so effortless.

Ahahahaha!!~ Prav and Nadz were talking about this pic. Finally found it..

Hurdle analogy

Friday, October 26, 2007

Well.. One down, 3 to go.

Had to wake up at 6 that morning since it was a 8.30am paper. I hate morning papers. I'm so not a morning person.

I think it went okay. I sure hope I did okay.

With the first paper finished, I retreated back home to catch up with some much needed sleep. "Tomorrow, I'll resume study tomorrow" I told myself.

Sigh.. I've yet to accomplish anything significant in the past 24 hours. And my dilemma is this, on the 31st of October I have one paper and on the 1st of November, another one.

That means, I have 5 days to revise for 2 papers which are placed back to back! Argh!

It's like running the hurdles. I jumped over the first one, no problem. But the next 2 hurdles are placed about 20 centimeters apart. Means I have to run a lot harder before jumping the next two.

Depressing..

(T_T)

Wednesday, October 24, 2007

It's tomorrow..

Well.. in 8 hours to be exact.

ECE2021 - Electromagnetism.

I've been working my butt off the past few days. Going to college in the morning and staying there till the wee hours of the night. I hope it pays off..

Only 1 picture is required to express my emotions.
Our past exam paper brought us to tears. Hope it's not the case with this paper.

My Australian exchange form has been approved. That means I'll be doing my next 2 semesters in Australia, IF I don't fail any subjects this semester. Not to mention that one subject in Monash cost RM3000 ringgit.

No pressure.

...

On a random note, one of my classmates told this too me just the other day..

"Justin, I never realized your tummy was so big!! You drink beer is it??"

- Ee Way

(T_T)

Then a buddy of mine had to reply with this..

"Aiyah, you hang out with him for one day and you'll find out why it's so big. Eat so many times a day. Plus chocolates everyday."

- Michael

(TT_TT)

Haha, at least the chocolates do some good. Ee Way says chocolates help with complexion.

Guess it's time to resume jogging. Darn you 'Matthew'!

*Runs back to study*

My finals start in 4 days.
Everybody now..

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

On the bright side, expect more posts I suppose.

And thanks to everybody for the birthday wishes, the gifts and taking the time to hang out with me. =)

Your small gesture of kindness means the world to me. xD

So back to work I go.,

I gave in.

Hee..

The thing that won me over was when Tina was reading my blog post and she went,

"Piracyyyy?.. How can you think of such a thinggg??"

She being the original supporter that she is.. Being Malaysian, piracy is so rampart that the crime hardly seems all that serious anymore. The thought of not giving the developers what they deserve for producing such wonderful works just doesn't seem right. The only original software I've ever gotten was Battlefield 2 and Megaman X. (like when I was 12..)

I owe Valve quite a large sum for the many of their great games such as the first Half-Life, Counter-Strike (Source and 1.6), Half-Life 2, Half-life 2 - Episode 1. It's about time I gave them what they rightfully deserve.

Presenting.. The Orange Box!!

Besides getting Episode 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2, The Orange Box also comes bundles with Half-Life 2 and Episode 1. I'm now a legit owner of Half-life 2 and Episode 1! =D

inside

The funky mousepad.

Told you it was huge.

The rocking poster of Team Fortress 2! It's a big feller.. Wonder where to put it..

You'll be seeing a skinnier Justin in the next few weeks. lol..

All in all, it feels good to get a legit product (despite the really tight squeeze of the wallet). I have no regrets.. yet. =)

Oh, I managed to finish Episode 1 last week. Haha, onward with Episode 2!

But first.. Portal! xD

*install install.*

The Orange Box

IT'S HERE!

I've been looking forward to this!

The auntie at Parade is so updated. She stocks her shop with the latest Halo 3 stuff! Not to mention a Master Chief helmet! SUGOI!!.. xD

On the very day if it's release, she has it already.

I wantttttttt..

I was so shy to ask the auntie if she had the pirated version. xP

Support original?

RM175.. Kinda pricey, but if you consider it having 5 games it's not that bad. rightt? I'm trying to justify my purchase..

Oh, and free poster and a huge mouse pad!.. *See how desperate I am to justify it?*

Argh.. should I? Should I not?!

IGN reviews gave it a 9.5 out of 10. INCREDIBLE!!

Portal... Team Fortress 2...

*checks bank balance.*

hmm....

Pianoman

Thursday, October 04, 2007

It's election season here in Monash. 3 parties are battling it out for the students votes. I'm surprised they have the time to promote themselves, campaign, organize performances and such with only 20 odd days to our finals. So free..

Some giler power jazz keyboardist guy just performed a few minutes ago. FUAHHHH!!.. is pretty much the only word I know to explain how good he is. His keyboard and vocals for Michael Buble's Everything was superb. =D Sounded just like an album. He probably just made the entire female population of Monash swoon over him, maybe even a few guys. Haha! xD (I know I did.)

When he finished, the crowd SCREAMED for an encore. So he got back to keyboard and played Fantasy Impromptu so well that Crissy would have beaten him to death should she have been there.

Yo.. How I wished I didn't drop out of piano.. Not to mention Xin loveeesssssss guys who can play either the piano or the violin. Unfortunately I don't play either one.. Haha! Sorry dear! xD

And my mom said the guitar will get the chics. Lol..

Plenty of acoustic performances going on too. For the past week I've heard 3 versions of Oasis' Wonderwall.. One girl who sang it today was screaming throughout the entire song, completely destroying it. Haha, fortunately most of the students were supportive and applauded.

Off to learn Wonderwall now. lol..

Valve fan-boy

Wednesday, October 03, 2007

Half-Life - Episode 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2 should be coming out this month!

Yayness!

I'm such a Valve fan-boy.

In anticipation to Episode 2, I purchased Episode 1 in hopes to finish it before the sequel comes out. xD Fat chance though, with my finals coming soon.

Thanks to the 1 gig of RAM I bought few weeks ago, everything looks prettier than they used to. =D

Throwing Combine Soldiers off cliffs never looked this good! xD

Monkey Wrench

Monday, October 01, 2007

T'was a dark, gloomy and wet Monday.. Absolutely perfect for sleeping in.

I think the week of rest did me some good. Despite staying up late to finish a report and a gloomy Monday, I didn't feel sleepy at all. I was surprised that I felt so awake and alert at 4 in the morning.

24 more days to my finals!! ARGH!!! Where did the weeks go?!

Every weekday night from now on shall be spent in the old Monash campus revising for my exams. That of course, is very idealistic. There are a few more labs and projects left to go before they'll leave us alone to study.

Stumbled upon this while writing on transformers and AC currents last night.

Manifold is awesome. It's kinda short, but still awesome nonetheless. Playing it further increases my anticipation for the soon to come Portal. Boy, I sure hope my lappie can support it when it does.

For all lap-drummers out there! Presenting, the DrumPants!

This clever dude rigged up sensors on the pants that cues the computer to play sampled drum sounds when the sensor is triggered. Now you can find out who are the ones that are exaggerating about how good their drum skills are. xD

The Foo Fighters!!

Don't wanna be your monkey wrench..

I have no clue what on earth that line means..

Still, really cool live show! Loved the bridge of the performance, the part after 2:51! =D The drums at the end also power

Listen to it with earphones. It sounds horrid on my laptop speakers.

For some reason I think of Desmond every time I hear this song. Probably because I heard him sing it before or something.

Don't we all dream of performing like that someday? xD

MSN concert

After a wonderful week of mid-term break, uni resumes the operation of its evil establishment tomorrow.

I decided that I would spend the holidays to just relax, rejuvenate and recharge. Get some stuff done, but mostly to rest.

With the stressful uni life returning to normal, the blues doesn't get any worse than this. Not to mention a lab report due Monday, tomorrow. xP

Then again, Kee Ken and Yeng sure know how to brighten someones evening. =D

The both of them entertained me with they rendition of "All out of love" by Air Supply over MSN Messenger. I am however not allowed to piece the song together using Adobe Audition and share it here with all of you. xD

Thanks Ken and Yeng for making my day. =D It was really a fun listen. Apparently now I owe them a duet with my sister. Wonder if she'll participate, lol.

Well, back to work then. A-simons a-simons. =)

I miss you guys

Sunday, September 23, 2007

I should be asleep by now with church tomorrow morning and all.

I haven't had so much fun with Friendster in years..

Being the dinosaur that I am, these sites rarely keep me interested for more than a month. I'd post a few photos, write some testimonials and then it'll just die.

After reading a post in James' blog about the identity thief that happened to him, for old times sake I decided to log into my old dusty friendster.

Looking through my list of friends, I've realized how many people I've lost touch with. Old school buddies who gone overseas, tuition mates, seniors, college mates. Oh how they've changed so much. =D

But the most fun is looking back at old pictures and reliving the precious memories stored in them. Not to mention saving them on my computer! lol..

I spent the last hour sending out messages to many of them, in hopes to (in words of Jon) rebuild long broken bridges. I sure hope they check their account more often than I do. xP

Burst Fire

Thursday, September 20, 2007

Next week is my "Mid-term" holidays, a well needed break! =D

1 week of Battlefield 2, mamak sessions and getting enough sleep.

Well actually, I have lots to cover for my finals. It's only a month plus away.. Better study hard.

Just passed up my Monash Exchange application today. Will find out if I'm accepted to transfer in about a few weeks.

I'm all excited, although I'm at the same time awfully terrified.

If I fail any subjects this semester, I won't be able to transfer there! I won't allow it!

There's no joy quite like getting pages and pages of cold hard programming to work flawlessly. xD Go Verilog!

Just celebrated our 2nd year anniversary on Tuesday. =) Happy anniversary baby! =D

Su Yin told us of this marvelous waffle place near 1U! Rather expensive, but it's superb! xD Strawberry and Cream.. wahhhh... Thanks Yin! =D

College group going for bowling on Saturday! I can show them my average score of 44. xP

What a difference... some RAM makes..

Tuesday, September 11, 2007

Why didn't I do this sooner?

Last night while getting some RAM for Xin for our anniversary, I was contemplating on getting some RAM for myself as well..

Why didn't I do it sooner?!

I've been thinking about the idea for sometime now, but I wasn't too sure if it would make that much of a difference.

My wife computer was not too bad, although it was showing little signs of aging. Usually when open a word document, an excel document and MATLAB at the same time (a typical setup for doing reports), it goes to a bad crawl.

And let's not even talk about gaming. It's a sign when your computer takes 10 plus minutes just to change a few settings.

So, justifying myself saying that it will increase my university productivity two-fold =P I got myself 1GB of RAM. Apacer, 1GB DDR2, 140 bucks, a reasonable price I figured.

Acer people are such clever people. The number of RAM slots for a laptop is 2. My computer came with 512MB of RAM. They just had to use two 256MB ones.

So with my newly added 1GB stick, my wife PC now has 1.2GB of wonderful wonderful RAM. =D Nothing much compared to Kee Ken's 2GB, lol.. but it works for me!

Dark Messiah is such a joy to play now.. xD No more melting plastic smell from my laptop!

I should try to install Battlefield 2 again. Maybe this time they won't kick me out of servers anymore.

Bioshock!

Ooo.. A good chance to try out blogger's new video uploader..

NDS homebrew software so rocks.. =D

I wanted to post something while I was in college, but I got my password wrong. The result was this.

Rose & Camellia

Sunday, September 02, 2007

This game is borderline weird, but freakishly fun. =D

This is the elegant art of feminine conflict.

On the very day after she married into the noble Tsubakikoji family, Reiko suffered the loss of her husband Shunsuke. Left alone to endure the haughty torments of the clan, Reiko has finally declared war on the rest of the family.

"I am the widow of the eldest son of the Tsubakikoji family. This house is mine!"

With the rose Shunsuke gave her clutched to her bosom, Reiko squares off against the entire household...

(The text above is taken directly from the site. Lol.. =P)

So anyway, in order to defend what is rightfully hers, Reiko squares off with the other members of the noble Tsubakikoji family. How? By slapping them senseless of course! =D

The battles consist of an exchange of face-slaps. You and your opponent try to slap each other silly until one side has lost all her health. The one left standing is the victor!

I love the way they tell the story, with its anime style and dialog. The critical hits are hilarious too! xD

At difficulty level 4, I only managed to play till the Grand Madame. Her brutal punches slaps are killer. I shall attempt again after posting this.

I seem to be enjoying games that require you to physically injure someone. (hmmm...) Wii Sports Boxing was a blast!! Haha! Great fun..

THE WOMANLY BATTLE BEGINS!

Happy slapping! =D

edit: Finished the game at level 3! Onward! LEVEL 4! WOHHH! =D

Magic - Funny home videos are a click away

Dudeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.. =D

CRAZYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

I so wish I could do thatttttttttttt.. Ahahahahahaha!

His "cool" exit didn't look like it worked out though with his stuck shades. Lol..

Wondered why the title was BGR? Ask Kee Ken. xD

ECE2021

Monday, August 27, 2007

Joshua from Klang sent me an "All the best" sms for tomorrows test. So nice of him. =)

If you're ever reading this Josh, UPDATE YOUR BLOG!!

Despite being so unprepared for tomorrow's paper, here I am, blogging, for the second time today.

Jon's so right. My blog comes ALIVE during exam seasons.

The picture below describes very effectively how prepared I am.

But as I said, blogging's pretty therapeutic. It's a good way to take your mind off equations and triple integrations for awhile.

Tomorrow I'm facing Electromagnetism, codename ECE2021. The figures below are graphic representations on how the subject has been treating me so far..

Scene 1

Scene 2

Scene 3

I think it might be a tad bit over-exaggerated. =) It's not that bad once you get the hang of it I suppose.

It's been eons since I have been able to draw girls. I've been drawing so many guys that people start to question my sexual orientation. HAH! This ought to set things straight. She's a little on the buff side though.. haha.. Oh well, I love the bleeding nose dude! Haha!

The scans look awful in their full size, gah...

I'm studying in uni now. Well actually, at the place my uni used to be. I'm doing some work in the ol' Sunway Campus. The new campus was a ghost town, no air-conditioning or fan whatsoever for students to loiter and study.

It's just like old times, cramming before the finals, only this time it's just mid-terms. I'm sitting at the very place we toiled and wept for the tough papers last semester. Plenty of bittersweet memories here. Mostly bitter since we were stressing out over the Finals last semester, haha! However despite that, many bonds and close friendships we forged in this very same place as well.

I have plenty to post, just couldn't find the time to put it all down with reports, mid-terms and all. My trip to Penang to surprise Miss Lew Ling Mun, coming home with a terrible fever and the gig at Full Gosple Tabernacle in Damansara on the very same day. Lol..

Another day eh? =) Back to work I go.

Suitable for kids! Quality approved!

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

Thanks Gabe for the link. =D

It's like receiving a SIRIM seal of approval. The Noodle Shop is suitable for all ages! Quality approved!

It's official, I'm hooked.

This has been my best friend for the past 4 weeks of college, everyday.. every single day..

Well of course I don't finish it all by myself. What better way to cheer up someone's grumpy morning with a dose of chocolate? =D Must remember to be wary of Micheal though, pass him the chocolates and a third of it will magically disappear.

Matthew slowly beginning to emerge again. I can see him mocking me. Better curb this somehow.. Not to mention I stopped jogging since early this semester. Time to get back into the habit I suppose.

More quizzes from that Mingle website.

2,336,880How Many Germs Live On Your Keyboard?
Equivalent to the number of germs on 467 toilet seats according to them. lol..

$4065.00The Cadaver Calculator - Find out how much your body is worth. From Mingle2 - Free Online Dating
Hahahaha, I'm guessing that's pretty bad. Although I can't really say without other people to compare with. Shouldn't drink so much sugary stuff, that really lowered the price of my dead body. xD

52% Geek

I lost so much marks to the Star Trek questions. Never really got into that series.. That's probably the reason why I'm only 52% geek.

Alright, my Switching Electronics report is calling out to me. *must.. not.. procrastinate.. *

Mr. Vai and Mr. Petrucci

Saturday, August 11, 2007

Since we're all in the spirit of bringing each other down musically (Eric Johnson, Buddy Rich), figured it'll be my turn to add some oil to the flame. Another crowd favorite, Mr Steve Vai.

I'm surprised he can even stand with that behemoth..

So cool! The top guitar being a 12 string guitar, the middle a normal one and the bottom a fretless neck.

wahhhhh...

On a lighter note, here's something I stumbled apon.

Hilarious dubbing. Hand-wired by Tony Blair. lol..

Windscreen slide..

Wednesday, August 08, 2007

I just took Betsy out for a wash yesterday evening. She badly needed it after the past few days of rain. The guys who wash cars down at the Caltex station in SS14 are superb! Exterior wash and interior vacuuming and cleaning for only 8 bucks! I drove off feeling as if I got a new car. =D

So that was at about 7pm yesterday evening. I went back home and did the things I needed to do.

Later that night I needed to get my textbook from the car, so naturally.. I went to the car.

Lately, there's this nice fluffy cat that has been loitering around my house for the past few days. From what I heard he/she has been getting braver and has started coming into the house as well..

From the looks of it, that cat (with very very muddy feet) jumped onto my car from the boot, made a few laps on top of the roof and finally decided to use the windscreen as a slide..

(TT_TT) ...

HAH?!

Funny how much chaos a few misunderstood words can bring..

"Eh Raghav, where's the Section B part of the report that you did?"

"HAH?? Weren't you supposed to do that part? You said you'll do the discussion and the resuts!"

"I already did the the discussion and the results! Section B is the calculation part.. Discussion and Calculations are different parts!!! (O_O)

"No wonder! I was wondering why you only give me so little to do while you do so much."

"No wonder you keep asking me for more work to do.. (-_-") Was thinking why you were so semangated.."

"How much longer before lab starts?"

"40 minutes.."

"DO NOW! DO NOW!!"

You can probably guess what we did for the next 40 minutes. Had to skip a Digital Systems lecture. (TT_TT)

Logical, but not very clever..

Tried out a few of those quizzes on Christina's blog.

Your Element Is Air

You dislike conflict, and you've been able to rise above the angst of the world.
And when things don't go your way, you know they'll blow over quickly.

Easygoing, you tend to find joy from the simple things in life.
You roll with the punches, and as a result, your life is light and cheerful.

You find it easy to adapt to most situations, and you're an open person.
With you, what you see is what you get... and people love that!

Ah, quite true.. I get so stressed when there's conflict. lol..

You Are Incredibly Logical

Move over Spock - you're the new master of logic
You think rationally, clearly, and quickly.
A seasoned problem solver, your mind is like a computer!

Haha, yay! =D I have a knack for solving lame jokes and clever logic questions. Unfortunately I don't feel very smart at stuff that really matter, more specifically Electrical and Electronics Engineering.. MOSFETs, Fast Fourier Transforms and Bipolar Junction Transistors can bring me to tears..

I'm starting to think whether or not the quiz is accurate.. I changed half of my answers and still got the same result. Maybe I'm not so clever after all. lol..

This guy was pretty famous for his rendition of Torn by Natalie Imbruglia. Hope it makes your day. =D

Love is Cinta, Pineapple is Nanas.

Sunday, August 05, 2007

Don't know why is a little enlarged and pixelated.. Hmm.. Will fix it later..

Love is Cinta, go watch it. It's pretty good. I've never watched a movie that could make you cry every 5 minutes. Very touching and sad movie, as Christina would say.. "Emo". If she went to watch this show we'd be reading about a freak flash flood in TGV Sunway Pyramid in the papers the next day. =P *sorry christina!! xD*

So go watch it! It's good!

Alright.. Back to work for me.. =S

Orpheus and Oranges

Thursday, August 02, 2007

I had so much fun with this..

Should have shaded the pants or something.. darn.

Didn't do the folds or creases.. I so suck at them. xD

And I still can't draw hands for nuts.. Lol lol.. But heck, it was still fun while it lasted. =)

I just had the most wonderful most awesome oranges in my life..

That's right.. oranges.

Check out Judson's face.. doesn't that say it all? lol..

It's like.. "FUAHHH!!". We can't quite put our finger on what the flavour is like. It's kinda sweet but also quite sour. But we both agree on one word to describe it, "electrifying". It makes my head tingle when I drink its juices.

It tastes like a soft drink too! Really!! Just ask Judson! =D

Rocking stuff..

Of truth tables and karnaugh maps..

Todays lab: Converting BCD(Binary coded decimal) to Seven Segment Display.

Basically it's making combinations of on and off switches to produce the numbers 0 to 4.

I find Digital Systems it so fascinating. =D

Didn't work the first time we tried it out this time. It was a headache to debug. Darn faulty NAND gates..

Thank God for Karnaugh Maps. I'd die if I had to simplify the logic with Boolean algebra. I'm just so "brilliant" at math. Who knows how I got through a year and a half of Engineering..

Red eyes..

Monday, July 30, 2007

Justin, how come your eyes are so red?

Hah? Really? Very red ah?

Yeah.. quite..

(TT_TT)

Note to self, never leave electromagnetic lab reports to Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Slept at 3 something because of the darn thing. Not to mention I had to wake up at 7 the next morning to finalize my Maths assignment to be handed in by 9am. *darn you math lecturer! couldn't you wait till the afternoon or something?* 3 hours of sleep... *sob sob*..

It didn't help that MATLAB and Microsoft Word runs a little sluggishly on my lappie. Waiting for the graphs to be produced took forever.. Apparently before I went to Singapore I forgot to shut down my laptop, thus it was running for 4 entire days straight. After returning from the trip, there's this weird smell of melted something everytime I use my computer. I'm pretty sure I fried something, it doesn't seem to run as fast anymore. Then again, it could be just me..

Think I'm coming down with a fever. Took a 2 hour nap in the evening, but i still feel awful.. Better go to bed early tonight to sleep things off..

I stumbled apon my old folder of drawings back in secondary school.. It's dated 2004. Wow.. 3 years already?!

Haha, so appropriate for today's post.

I kinda miss drawing..

It's ALIVEEEEEE..

Saturday, July 28, 2007

I have 5 minutes. Just five. I have a report to complete about line charges, electric fields and an assignment Laplace Transforms.

*Sigh...*

Hello there! It's been about.. 21 days or so? hmm?

Now, the sole purpose of this post is to silence the jokers on the cbox telling me that my blog is dead. Yes, I know it's dead. You don't have to remind me. =D

Can't blame me, holidays are too precious for blogging. Watching movies, gaming, sleeping. Ah.. Good times. I easily watched at least 10++ movies during my holidays, a luxury not possible when I have classes and stuff.

Then again, I might just be lazy and uninspired. Well, mostly the former than the latter. *grin*

In an effort to give a fresh new look to the blog, I was looking through a number of templates to redecorate The Noodle Shop. Unfortunately nothing really caught my fancy. Oh well.. when it's not broken, why fix it?

So.. What's up with me lately? Well.. for starters, against my wishes I'm back in Monash University again. I would love to rant on how a month of holiday is not enough, but I'll probably be beaten up and smacked senseless by a certain somebody from The One Academy.

Heck I'll say it anyway.. A month is SOOOOO not enough!

Well, on the bright side. Monash has officially moved to its brand spanking new campus!

On the first day of this semester I felt like I was overseas far away studying. And coincidently the morning weather was a little chilly that day.

It's always great to meet up with old classmates and makan buddies again, so many stories to tell and share. Although it was sad that a few of them failed units last semester. I'm thankful that I made it though without failing, but in hindsight I barely made it.

With my less-than-stellar results, I have decided to work much harder this semester. My last one was certainly a drag, having being ripped away from my close friends and my comfort zone. I reckon I'm more emotionally stable to face this semester. =) What more, the new library is gorgeous! The timing couldn't be better, a brand to campus to go with a fresh new start.

It's been 2 weeks already. I'd say I'm doing alright. =D Too early to judge though, the workload usually starts to pile on week 4. Better brace myself..

Isn't it wonderful when things just work?

I think I'll enjoy Digital Systems class. It's interesting how seemingly simple logic requires so much thought, planning and wires to implement.

We were surprised that this mess of wires worked the first time we put it together. Oh the euphoria.. =D

Well.. I have spent 55 minutes on this post. 11 times more that I intended to. I can kiss that Electric field report goodbye.

"Tomorrow... Tomorrow.. I'll finish you... Tomorrow..."

I've forgotten how stress-relieving blogging can be. When there's stuff in your head you just need to let out, nothing works better than a good blog post. If we're lucky, we'll see more in the near future. =)

A few more pictures to end this post. Farewell then!

Budak-budak hijau!! I actually thought my shirt was brown. Darn colour-blindness..

Gotta love Kee Ken's expression in this picture. Priceless.. =D
