Haha, I'm quite satisfied with my banner. Despite my lack of photoshop skills and a general sense of color and style, I've managed to put together something with MS Paint. lol..
Now with more beef!

Do the Robot!

Xin recommended this video. Amazinggg.. I felt like I was watching some kind of animation. Unreallll!!
Makes you wish you could dance doesn't it? =D Too bad I have the grace and elegance of a beached whale, lol. Then again, Nori and Sing Ping said it can be fixed with a few lessons.. Hmm..
Sighh.. the Monday blues got me bad today. Was looking forward to ice skating too but it was postponed. Oh well..
Have a good week!

Fire Alarm
Saturday, July 26, 2008
We just had a Fire Alarm.
Everyone had to evacuate the building.
At 3.30, in the morning..
Everyone gathered at the carpark as we should whenever we hear the fire alarm. Cold like babi!!
It was a deep inner struggle to decide if I should even bother leaving the comfort of my nice, warm, comfortable bed. It's kinda hard to sleep when the siren making all the racket is mounted right outside your door.
Sleepy/grumpy/furious faces filled the carpark. Many were talking about how they'll beat the stuffing out of the one responsible of triggering the alarm, should they ever find out who.
In a strange twisted way I found it mildly amusing. The grunting of the masses, the sleepy blur faces, the funny PJ's. hahahaha.. Awesome pants Khong. =P
It was 4 by the time they let us back in. I have a meeting tomorrow at 10.30am. Die la...

What a week!
Monday, July 21, 2008
Ah.. Such a nice relaxing Monday. =D
Too bad it's only for this week, starting next week onwards I have to attend labs on Monday afternoons. Let me enjoy this one for the meantime. =)
It's been quite the week, first was the start of a new semester. Won't want to bore you with the details. In a nutshell, it's going to be a crazy semester. I'm absolutely terrified of Engineering Design.. The only thing I find fascinating this semester is Intelligent Robotics. Hurray for C programming! =D
The others? Meh.. No telecommunications subjects, no computing subjects. Sigh.. My electronics knowledge is a joke. Gotta work on that..
My timetable was a pain to organize. What a mess, it was clashing all over the place. Every unit change I made brought different problems to the timetable. Even with my finalized timetable now there's a clash but there's nothing much I can do about it. Take it like a man I suppose..
Then there was Wednesday's incident..
Just before the operation. Still have time to joke. Haha.
The surgery technician at the back expects to see this picture somewhere in facebook. lol..
I really think the girl is a champion. She seemed so cool, calm and collected as the doctor told her she needed an operation to remove the appendix and to examine the other organs in case there are any problems. I'm personally terrified of operations and pray I won't need to be cut open ever. Imagine the trouble it is needing surgery while being away from family and while studying abroad.. Starting the semester with a bang eh Sing Ping?
Fortunately, it was a straight-forward procedure. The appendix was found slightly inflamed and was removed. No other problems were spotted elsewhere. =)
After the operation. Thumbs up for modern medicine!
Thanks to the wonders of modern medicine, recovery shouldn't take too long. She'll be back to whoop our backsides in ping pong again in no time! =D
Flowers from her sons (Nick and Beng), Ceci, Izzy and Carmen.
I never knew that white roses were meant for funerals. When I saw them I thought they were gorgeous, hahahaha. While Jun Wei was looking around for a vase for the flowers in the hospital we overheard the nurses talking to each other..
"White roses?! I won't let them put the bouquet on my table if I was the patient!"
Ahahahahaha! xD I didn't know Australians were so superstitious. I can imagine the chinese nurses in Malaysia saying this, but didn't expect that here.
Only a handful of us were around for the weekend. The bulk of the gang went to Fall's Creek for a ski trip. Sounded so fun!! Quick Ru O! Quickly organize your cell group trip!!
On Saturday I went down to the City to meet up with Einy, my classmate back in secondary school. =D
It was certainly nice to catch up after so many years. Eating 2 dollar roti canai at the park in the shivering cold of winter was certainly an experience. xD Hard to imagine that it has been 4 years already since I left secondary school! How time flies!
I brought my guitar wife to the city to look for a shop that does servicing. Thanks Einy for taking me to the place! =D Cranbourne Music was magical.. Wonderful gorgeous guitars I can never afford hang on the wall on both sides of the place. SG's, Les Paul's, X-plorers. Telecasters, Strats, Jaguars.. Wah!!
Toby/My wife needed his/her (I'm not sure) frets resurfaced. It was worn out so bad that it made buzzing noises, much like the Squire Strat that was back in church before it was serviced. How I wish I was in Malaysia, it would have been heaps cheaper..
So my guitar wife will be at the repair shop spa for a week. Her full make-over will cost 120 dollars. (TT_TT) It's to be expected I guess. They'll do the works, resurfacing the frets, intonation, restringing, repairing my machine head, hopefully some cleaning and polishing. Hope they'll be done on Saturday like they said! I miss Toby already. Had to lend Leslie's hot Ibanez for a few days to get my fix, lol.
Here's to a good week! =D

Graphic Violence
Sunday, July 20, 2008
I forgot that I had these, lol.
At that time, we've sat for 3 papers already. We wanted to drop dead due to tiredness and fatigue but we had to press on. The anxiety was killing us, one more paper to go. In our stress, we doodled..
Just follow the numbers, shouldn't be too difficult to follow. =)
Ahahahaha.. Good fun. =D Awfully effective for destressing.
To someone out there, (you know who you are!) I'm so happy for you! =D Can't help but smile when I think about it. Hahaha!

Prayer request
Thursday, July 17, 2008
Sing Ping was having really bad abdominal pains since early this afternoon. It wasn't getting any better so I accompanied her to the hospital to get checked up in the evening..
What I thought would be a simple visit to the doctor turned out to be something much more serious. Who would have known it was appendicitis? We thought all the while that it was a gastric problem. The doctor suggested that she should stay at the hospital for the night. The surgery to remove the appendix will most likely be tomorrow.
Do remember her in your prayers. Thanks guys.

Semester Blues and Red Center Tour
Monday, July 14, 2008
The Monday blues are back again! Semester has officially resumed starting today. Sigh.. The break was too short. Darn you Electrical Engineering for having late exam dates!!
As always, my semester timetable is a mess. This semester is particularly messy thanks to a unit I have to retake, Switching Electronics. Sigh again.. That would mean this semester I won't be taking the same subjects as my usual mates. On the bright side, the lecturer here in Australia for this unit is heaps better than the one back home. Just have to make new friends and step out of my comfort zone, right?
I sure hope I'll be able to get along with my randomly allocated lab partner.
Semester blues aside, the photos are uploaded! I can post on my last holiday adventure to the middle of nowhere! =D
The bus trip to Adelaide, at 4.30 in the morning.
Beach in Adelaide in the middle of the night. They stood still while a long exposure was used and I painted them with a torchlight. =D You can see the trail of the aircraft taking off!
First night at Adelaide.
Lunch break at Woomera with new friends! =D
The first catholic church at Coober Pedy.
It's literally an underground church. In Coober Pedy everyone lives in caves they dig out of the rocky hills.
Coober Pedy Museum.
A typical house in Coober Pedy. Cool in the Summer, warm in the winter! It's like the Flintstones! xD
Our night out at Coober Pedy. Messing with torchlights!
Next stop! Alice Springs!
Y... M.C.A!!
Ice Cream!
Set up camp in Alice Springs. It was something new sleeping outside during winter. Freaking cold!!
Umm..
Titus doing a "justin".
The Desert Park
Brilliant birds! They use stones to break the eggs! So clever!!
My angle seems off.. (-_-")
Reptile Park!
Yunn Yee! Fellow Malaysian, she knows Suleen in Penang! What a small world! =D
Sunset at Alice Springs.
Simpsons Gap
Stanley's Chasm
Micheal and me!
Alice Springs
King's Canyon! Gorgeous place!! =D
Hahahaha! So happy with how this turned out!
Tara and Kendra, reaching enlightenment. xD
Finally at Uluru! Photos from the helicopter ride!! =D
Uluru at sunset.
I'm pretty sure there's some taboo against doing something like this to the sacred rock.
Walking at the base of Uluru. There are many places you can't photograph due to cultural reasons. It's very different from what I expected.
Surfin' USA!!
The Olga's, Uluru's less popular sister.
The journey home! A 30 hour bus ride! Madness!! Ahahahaha!
Sunset photos courtesy of Sing Ping!
Wow.. Finally! hahahaha.. That took awhile. And these are only some of my photos. I've yet to see the ones from other cameras. hehehe. =D Still many activities I didn't photograph like the Quad biking!
Glad you made it this far! Hahahaha. Have a good week! =)
